One Sweet Day in May design for Creatives.

Happy Monday One Sweet Bloggies! 

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was spent seeing Zac Brown Band in Virginia Beach with Chris for a little Friday night date, driving up to Stafford Virginia to pick up a new OSDIM addition that I can't wait to show you! And yesterday, I spent time at Paisley And Jade with Hello Love Weddings and Andrea Pesce for a lifestyle shoot for Jessica May of Jess Creates. I designed a floral arrangement for Jessica to go along with her brand refresh and I thought I'd tell you about this fun new addition that One Sweet Day in May is offering area creatives!

I just love creating floral pieces for fellow wedding industry girls for their brands. Back in February I had the privilege of designing a small centerpiece for Amy of Sincerely Amy Design's lifestyle shoot and I discovered that it joins my love of floral design with that of building community with fellow business owners! I have had requests from quite a few boss ladies, so I thought I would make it known to the World about this newfound avenue.

So many of us are investing in lifestyle shoots to create a perfectly streamlined brand and having styled images you can use on all platforms is wonderfully useful. Implementing florals into your shoot isn't a must, but having an arrangement that is brand specific adds a little something special. They are great for those detail shots and let's be honest, who doesn't love flowers that match your brand? 

The process is quite easy too! Once we've connected I'll get to know your brand and exactly what would bring the details portion of your shoot to the next level. I'll exactly match your esthetic, your colors, and really bring to life a piece (or two!) that will photograph beautifully for you.

I know branding is quite the investment and therefore I want to keep this OSDIM offering budget friendly. For this service, you will only be charged for the cost of flowers and hardgoods, but there will be no charge for my services. Yay! I absolutely adore the Virginia wedding community and am thrilled to be a part of so many rebrands!

Pastels & Pine Styled Shoot.

Being from South Florida snow was something I always dreamed of and now living here in Virginia I've grown to love it even more than I ever thought I would. There is just something about waking up the morning after it's snowed and experiencing that magical moment where everything is silent. Lucky for me, the Pastels and Pine shoot ended up being on one of the snowiest days of the year and we were able to recreate that magic that I love so much in the form of one gorgeous styled shoot. And I'm super excited to have it featured on one of my favorite wedding blogs later this summer! Eeek! 

Ally Allison Events coordinated and styled everything and she couldn't have done a more amazing job. She wanted a winter theme but with pastel colors and I fell in love right away with her ideas. However, it ended up being one of the coldest, iciest, and snowiest weeks ever on record in Virginia there were definitely some obstacles we had to overcome. On the floral side, my wholesale order didn't get delivered on time because of the snow and caused me go into panic mode and wait at the Fedex ship center for hours. HOURS. The stunning blush gown our lovely model Holly is wearing was a last minute addition (like an hour before shoot time last minute) because our original dress was backed up with FedEx too! Welcome to the South haha...our cities can't handle anything over an inch of snow.  

One other obstacle? We set the alarm off at the venue and the police showed up. You should have seen us explaining to them what exactly we were doing lol. I'm sure they weren't expecting bride in a pink wedding dress out in 18 degree weather...We had permission to be on the premises, but no one ended up being there from the venue and we opened the door (granted there was a "come on in" sign and it was unlocked) and the alarm started blaring. Lesson learned. 

Once we got past our obstacles it was finally shoot time. And this was the result. A perfect romantic snowy scene. Nikki Santerre & Jessica Green are two of my favorite photographers and I think I will always be in love with their images from this special day. 

Can't you see why this is one of my favorite shoots EVER! It was so worth braving the 18 degrees to get this end result. Perfection. We were about to wrap up and then it started snowing ever so lightly. Like a dream. A huge thank you to our models who were such troopers and she may or may not be wearing thick leggings and Uggs under that dress. It was pure survival mode out there.

The One Sweet Office

I'm so happy to be able to FINALLY show you around the new and improved One Sweet Office today! If you remember this post where I first introduced you to this little space, my office is actually the little sitting nook right off of our master bedroom. When the rebrand first began back in March I knew I needed to transform this little space into something a little more me. 

So let's do a little before and after shall we? Here's where we started...

More than anything I love the copious amount of natural light this room gets, it's the best in the whole house. All the actual processing of flowers and floral design happens in our kitchen. We have really great counter space down there and I'm hoping to keep all things One Sweet Day in May under this roof for as long as possible, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have dreams of a brick and mortar floral store front. And Thank goodness Chris (mostly) doesn't mind the mess I create.

The office is where you can find me most days. It's where Taylor Swift is on repeat, where the coffee mugs pile up, and where I run this little dream of a business. I believe that even when you are married you should have a space that's all yours and inspires you, and not only if you're not a small business owner. 

My main goal was to not spend a bajillion dollars redecorating. This girl is on a budget y'all. I found the perfect paint color at Benjamin Moore. It's called London Fog and it's the prettiest softest grey. My whole house will be grey one day, I just love it so much. The biggest splurge was my rug. I knew I wanted the fluffiest pink rug possible and I found the perfect one over on Overstock.
