ONE SWEET RECAP

Happy Monday from snowed in and icy Richmond, Virginia! At our house we got an incredible 16 inches of the white stuff and therefore are going on day 4 of snow days. We played in it yesterday amidst shoveling our 150 foot driveway, which by the way is a monster hill! My body is aching so much this morning. I can't tell you how much I've gotten done since Friday...nothing like a snowstorm to make you productive. I'm not one for loving staying inside for days at a time though...I need to doing things and going places. Yesterday we took Chris'  eye sore of a Jeep out to get his brother's truck unstuck from a ditch. Honestly, 364 days a year I hate that Jeep. It's ugly, noisy, and just sits on the driveway alllll year long. I sometimes wonder what our neighbors think of us. But! Then comes that one day a year when someone (and it's been me once or twice) gets stuck and it's the Jeep to the rescue! So, the Jeep can stay, I guess. Other than that little escapade, I've been at home...since Friday morning at 10am....and I had to reschedule sweet Amy's baby shower. Boo.

Through Winter Storm Jonas, I learned a few things....

1. Continuously checking the forecast and different news channels for what each is saying is such a waste of time. It's going to snow... A LOT! A difference between 10-15 inches on this news channel and 12-18" on this channel doesn't really matter.

2. No matter how much food and how many snacks you buy to prepare for days inside, you're always going to want something you didn't get...I've been craving waffles since Friday afternoon and WE DON'T HAVE ANY!! So sad.

3. As someone who relies on her daily Starbies run...I've made some amazing homemade lattes this weekend! Chris bought me a latte maker a million year ago and the poor thing usually just sits there. My lattes were so amazing, that I'm thinking I may just start making daily lattes at home (GASP!) My bank account will celebrate!

4. There is no limit on how many times you can watch Mean Girls, The Holiday, National Treasure, and 27 Dresses. But, I may have already known this.

5. I need to invest in some real snow boots. Walking in 16 inches of snow is no joke.

6. Levi (Our 1 year old mini golden doodle) is obsessed with snow. All he's been wanting to do is go outside. So finally we let him hang out in the snow on the deck for a few hours and just jump around. Hilarious

7. Adult coloring books are the greatest thing EVER invented.

8. That leaving your Christmas tree up through January is a pretty great idea jusssst incase a massive snowstorm comes along and gives you the chance to pretend it's Christmas all over again.

9. That as much as it is such a pain to not be able to go anywhere, that it is quite wonderful to be home with your little family watching favorite movies by the fire with warm blankets for days on end. These kind of days are so rare and I know come June, I will miss this. Jonas, you're not so bad.

And so we begin a new week,...

This week is a BIG one around here! I'm announcing something on Thursday that I am bursting at the seams about! Stay tuned sweet friends! I'll be announcing first over on Instagram so be sure to follow here!

And as I said last week, I'm beginning to do weekly short term goals instead of my monthly goals...so here we go!

Have a great week sweet friends!

ONE SWEET RECAP

So on Saturday it was 60 degrees and I wore flip flops all day and then I woke up on Sunday morning to the prettiest snow falling and wore snow boots the rest of the day. I feel like saying the weather is crazy gets really old, but this weekend it was true. Oh, winter.

This winter was a mix of downtime and working. Friday night Chris and I saw 13 Hours in the theater. Such a powerful movie that I think everyone should see. I honestly left the theater a bit angry over that 2012 Benghazi situation, but loved the movie. If you haven't seen it, go! Just know it's almost 3 hours long and about 90% off it is super intense.

I spent Saturday with my future sister-in-law. We did a barre class together and then spent the afternoon shopping and eating lunch. Such a fun day with her. I then went home to Chris and proceed to watch football for the rest of the evening and I cooked dinner! For those of you that know me really well, I don't really cook. I'm more of a stick a frozen lasagna in the oven kind of girl and then say for the rest of the night "I'm such a great cook!" Hah. But this weekend, I really did! In the midst of football watching and dog playing I made delicious chicken marinated with teriyaki garlic sauce, salad, and sweet potato fries (which were from a bag, but who cares!) I was so proud of myself haha! I felt like Tom Hanks in Castaway when he made fire. Totally legit.

On Sunday like I said, it was snowing. So magical! I snuck out to Starbies to get some much needed work done for some upcoming weddings in the morning and then had a meeting with my April full planning bride about all the logistics of her upcoming big day. (I can't wait to introduce you!) Sunday evening I made another delicious meal! 2 times in one week, what! It's a form of stuffed shells and the really the only recipe I know how to make. Like I said, this girl doesn't cook. This recipe is so so good and I especially love it this time of year. Such great comfort food! I think I'll post the recipe sometime next week!

last week was a good one, but I'm starting to realize that the off season isn't quite as off as I thought and because of that I fell behind on blogging. Life happens I guess, but today is a new day (and week!) and I feel as though I am better prepared for the busy. Hooray! Something new I'm starting is to share weekly goals instead of my big monthly goal posts. I'm a short term goal person and for this girl, I feel as though week;y goals might be better and more attainable. I know I can't be the only one.

So my weekly goals...

1. Have a succesful venue walkthrough today with a lovely June bride.

2. Caroline is back this week after being gone for the holidays and I would love to nail down a schedule and to-do list with her for the next 2 months.

3. Update Trello

4. Schedule 2 venue walk through with 2 May brides.

5. Continue to work on my new look book for new clients.

6. Start finding vendors to sponsor the Floral Gathering Round 2

7. Start working on the Floral Gathering Details.

8. Start working on a special lunch the Floral Gathering is Sponsoring in March.

Personal Goals

1. Plan an awesome date night for Chris and I on Wednesday. Ever since we started dating we've had a weekly date night that we usually never miss, but last week he was in DC Monday-Friday and we didn't really have a date night (the movie on Friday was with a group) So this week we're making up for it!

2. Workout for a least one hour 5 days this week

3. Drink 90 ounces of water per day.

4. Finish 2 collage frames.

5. Order prints from our Ireland trip

6. Put on a sweet baby shower this Sunday for Amy of Sincerely Amy Designs.

7. Clean out the pantry and fridge. (who knows what is in there y'all!)

8. Schedule a trip down to NC to see my best friend Bree. It was supposed to be this past weekend, but with bride meetings popping up, I couldn't make it happen. Darn!

Have a wonderful week sweet friends!
